A 17-year-old girl from Sarasota, Florida, was arrested for allegedly running a prostitution ring within Riverview High School, where she attends school.
The alleged ringleader was arrested Friday on felony charges of human trafficking of a person under 18, reports the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.
Authorities caught on to the illegal activity when four girls from a neighboring Venice High School reported to school administrators they were contacted in a recruiting attempt.
Police also arrested 21-year-old John Mosher, who allegedly paid $40 and a bottle of alcohol to sleep with a 15-year-old.
There were at least three prostitution meetings scheduled by the 17-year-old, officials said. The teen used Facebook to organize her business and contact potential clients.
Venice Police Captain Tom Mattmuller told the Herald-Tribune a third arrest is anticipated Tuesday.
