When Angel Lynn Coller woke up, she was in the arms of her older sister Laniyah. Their home was on fire.

“My sister carried me, but then she was crying because all our stuff was gone,” Angel Lynn told WPXI-TV. “Even my pretty clothes are gone.”

The girls’ mother called upstairs to Laniyah that there was a fire. Laniyah grabbed her sister immediately and made it downstairs, despite heavy amounts of smoke filling the home.

Everyone inside in the West Homestead, Pennsylvania, home at the time of the fire made it out safely.

“I just skipped the steps,” Laniyah said. “All the smoke was in my eyes.”

Investigators told WPXI’s Gordon Loesch the fire was caused by unattended food that was burning. The Red Cross is assisting the Coller family, as well as some neighbors who were also affected.
