Singer and former host of The Voice CeeLo Green came to the defense of comedian Bill Cosby, who has been accused of rape by more than 20 women.

Green, who is an accused rapist himself, told TMZ that “It doesn’t seem fair” for social media users to assume Cosby is guilty because he has not come out and directly addressed the allegations publicly.

Many of the women who have come forward with allegations against Cosby said they recall the comedian giving them some form of pill or drinking something they were given before blacking out.

In September, Green pleaded no contest to charges alleging he gave a woman ecstasy without her consent during dinner in 2012. The woman claimed she was drugged while out to dinner with Green and remembers nothing after dinner but waking up next to Green in bed the next morning.

While he pleaded guilty to felony drug possession, Green was not charged with rape due to lack of evidence. In an attempt to defend himself on Twitter, Green stirred controversy when he tweeted “women who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”
