NFL star Cam Newton has reportedly been injured in a car wreck.
The Charlotte Observer’s Jonathan Jones is reporting the Carolina Panthers quarterback was loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher following the crash.
Newton’s vehicle reportedly overturned as a result of the accident, which occurred midday Tuesday.
A Charlotte-Mecklenberg Police Department spokesman confirmed to Jones that Newton was driving the vehicle at the time and was “able to communicate.”
Another car was also involved.

Additionally, a witness told Charlotte’s WCNC-TV Newton’s truck flipped “four times.”

The Panthers’ official Twitter account posted the following regarding Newton’s accident:
We are closely monitoring the situation of a car wreck involving Cam Newton. We will have more information at an appropriate time.

Cam Newton is in fair condition and undergoing tests at Carolinas Medical Center and will remain there overnight for observation.

Further testing revealed that Cam Newton has two transverse process fractures in his lower back and no further internal injuries.
