Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. is set to star as O.J. Simpson in American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, which will air on the FX channel.
The new anthology miniseries is an offshoot of Ryan Murphy’s hit FX franchise, American Horror Story.
According to Deadline.com, the series is based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson and will take a look at the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers involved.
Gooding will star as O.J. Simpson, and 12 Years A Slave actress Sarah Paulson will play prosecutor Marcia Clark.
Lee Daniels, who recently directed Gooding in The Butler, turned to Instagram this morning to express his feelings on the new miniseries.
“Trying to process this one…” he wrote.
