'GMA' correspondent Mara Schiavocampo: 'Beyoncé inspired me on my journey to lose 90 lbs'

VIDEO - In part 2 of her interview with theGrio, Mara Schiavocampo opens up about who inspired her the most on her weight loss journey.

Good Morning America‘s Mara Schiavocampo, author of Thinspired, sat down with theGrio to talk about how she lost 90 pounds and wants to inspire people everywhere to adopt healthy eating.

In her new book, Thinspired: How I Lost 90 Pounds — My Plan for Lasting Weight Loss and Self-Acceptance, Schiavocampo, 35, shares how she went from tipping the scales at 230 pounds to her now healthy weight — and formulas for her success plan.

Instead of focusing strictly on “Do’s” and “Dont’s,” she says it’s essential to eliminate the foods that have a control over you.

In part 2 of her interview with theGrio, Schiavocampo opens up about who inspired her the most on her weight loss journey.

Schiavacampo, who’s the mother of a beautiful 3-year-old daughter, says that Beyoncé led by example as a mother who seems to be able to do it all and maintain a healthy figure.

“When it comes to being a working mom, I do get a lot of inspiration from Beyoncé. That woman works hard, she doesn’t give herself any excuses, and she seems to be a very devoted and loving mother. She probably has a lot of help, but she also has a lot of responsibility. She’s not making any excuses in her life. She looks better not before the baby, so that’s a very powerful role model.”

“I’m inspired by moms who are better now after the baby… physically, ” Shiavocampo added.
