On Monday, TLC announced a Kickstarter campaign to help fund their final album.

By Thursday, the group had already met and exceeded their $150,000 goal. As of Friday morning, the campaign has raised more than $200,000.

This will be TLC’s first album since 2002’s “3D.”

Group members T-Boz and Chilli shared their excitement on Twitter:

Among the donors was pop princess Katy Perry, who donated $5,000. She and other donors who pledged large amounts will be able to choose prizes including a TLC onesie, a sleepover in Atlanta with Chilli and a sleepover in Los Angeles with T-Boz. (though fans have already claimed that option)

In addition to launching the Kickstarter campaign, TLC’s fans learned this week the group is going on tour with New Kids on the Block and Nelly, starting this summer.
