Demetrius Franklin just took the whole “my kid should play more” thing to the next level.
Franklin’s son, Daeyn, plays for Doss High School’s basketball team in Louisville, Kentucky. Saturday night, both father and son allegedly attacked Doss’ basketball coach Tony Williams following a game.
According to police reports obtained by WDRB-TV, Franklin and his son hit Williams multiple times.
Both were arrested.
Demetrius was reportedly upset about his son’s lack of playing time. Williams reportedly told police he smelled “alcohol” on the elder Franklin’s breath.
WDRB’s Sarah Phinney reports there is no word yet on how this incident will impact Daeyn’s school year. Phinney suggests that Williams is not expected to be disciplined or face sanctions of any kind.
