OJ Simpson reportedly prefers Denzel over Cuba Gooding for mini-series role

Consider OJ Simpson not impressed with the choice of Cuba Gooding Jr. to portray him in an upcoming TV miniseries.

Simpson’s displeasure, according to a report from Radar Online, stems from his belief that Gooding doesn’t have enough “charisma” to pull off the role.

So who does Simpson prefer? Denzel Washington.

Norman Pardo, a longtime friend of Simpson, says the former NFL star thinks Gooding is “too small for the job” and couldn’t accurately portray a serious football player.

Washington was nice to Simpson following the “Trial of the Century,” something Pardo said Simpson appreciates and still remembers.

Simpson is currently serving a 33-year-prison-sentence for armed robbery and kidnapping. In 2007, Simpson “stormed” a Las Vegas hotel room to retrieve some of his sports memorabilia and other items — including his first wife’s wedding ring.

The miniseries, entitled American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson, reportedly starts production this spring.

Denzel couldn’t be reached for comment — ever.
