Kanye West broke down on Thursday during a BBC Radio 1 interview in which he was talking about his mentor, British fashion design professor Louise Wilson, who passed away in May.

“I didn’t know we were going to lose her…and she told me, she said, you know, ‘Thank you for the times where I came to performances and this has like really meant a lot to me, with…,'” he said before breaking down and covering his face.

The interviewer suggested that they take a break, and when West, 37, returned to his seat, he said, “That’s never happened to me in an interview before, I think I’m good.”

They finished the rest of the interview, and West went on to address other topics, such as his desire to give North West a sibling. “Oh, I’m practicing really hard,” West said. “I try as many times a day I can.”

West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, had also admitted in January that she wanted another child.

“It’s been more challenging to get pregnant the second time around,” she said. “When you’re not planning it, it happens. It’s just how God works. And when you want it so bad, it’s not happening.”
