The California man whose “hot mugshot” garnered him worldwide attention was given over two years in prison for his crimes, but he was also given a modeling career.

Jeremy Meeks’ mugshot went viral after the Stockton Police Department posted it to their Facebook page with a caption about his arrest and pending charges. The 30-year-old’s photo garnered tens of thousands of likes and comments, giving him nicknames like “Prison Bae” and “Jailhouse Hottie.”

Some social media users suggested that with those ice-blue eyes he could start a modeling career, and agent Jim Jordan of White Cross Management agreed. According to ABC News, Meeks is working with Jordan to plan his career following his release.

“I’m in a place where I will be able to provide for my family and really change my life,” Meeks told ABC News from a Nevada prison. “I never thought that everyone in the world would recognize me for my looks, so I feel extremely blessed and very thankful.”

In June 2014, the convict told Inside Edition he quit gangs years ago, adding, “I’m a family man. I’m a husband. I am a father, and I’m a hard worker.”

Upon his release, Meeks plans on not only launching a modeling career but also an acting career.

Meeks was sentenced in February to 27 months after he was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
