Turan Caudle, 17, was shot in the head by his friend after they got into an argument over a video game back in January. After the shooting, doctors had to remove half of his skull and told his mother that he might not even make it through the night.
If he did, he was not expected to be able to walk or talk, reports NBC Washington.
Now, the teenager is facing a daunting road to recovery as he relearns basic skills like walking and talking, but he is improving. His mother takes him to a Baltimore rehabilitation center every day to help him in his uphill battle.

Turan was shot by his friend, Delano Dunmore, 16, in the head inside Dunmore’s Maryland home. The shooting occurred because of an argument over a video game, and Dunmore then allegedly turned the gun on himself. Both teens managed to survive their injuries.
“I never could imagine that could happen with them just playing a video game,” Turan’s mother, Sherita Caudle, said.
Dunmore is now facing charges for the incident. He had originally faced murder charges, but because Turan survived, the charges have been downgraded to assault.
Turan continues to improve, and a GoFundMe account has been created to help him and his family pay for medical expenses.
