Two Washington fast food employees were fired after they allegedly swapped hits of marijuana in exchange for burgers and fries.

The incident came to light after marijuana advocate Jonah Tacoma posted a video online showing employees taking hits from a pipe, which they take as payment for the fast food meal, reports KOMO News.

“We were going through the drive-through and when we were done ordering, I offered to pay with a dab instead of cash,” said Tacoma. “She said, ‘Yeah, sure.’ We started filming when we pulled up.”

While employees asked Tacoma not to post the video online for at least a week, he waited an entire month before it went online, and only then did the employees get in trouble. They were fired for drug-related activities on the job.

“Frugals has a zero tolerance drug policy in the workplace, and we in no way condone the type of conduct captured,” said Laurie Macarty, Financial Manager for Frugals.

As for Tacoma, who says he was able to get burgers for his “whole crew” in exchange for the marijuana, he does not believe that his actions in any way jeopardized the employees involved.

“I don’t think we put them in jeopardy,” he said. “I think they chose to participate. The reality is we are making a statement.”
