Spike TV recently announced their decision to award Floyd Mayweather with their “TBE (The Best Ever)” award at this year’s Guys’ Choice Awards.
While Mayweather is undeniably an amazing boxer with a professional record of 48-0, many are now expressing their frustration with Spike TV for choosing to reward someone who is known for domestic violence. After the decision was announced, there was a wash of backlash on Twitter, reports Complex Magazine.

Most of the disbelief was aimed at Mayweather’s domestic violence record.
“He’s been leading the domestic violence game for years. About time he got an award for his efforts,” said one user.

Despite the frustration and disbelief expressed by many, Spike TV seems geared to give the award anyway. Here is an excerpt from their release detailing their decision:
Spike TV announced today that Floyd Mayweather will be honored with the ‘TBE’ (The Best Ever) award at the Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson hosted Guys Choice awards. The show has also added comedian, actress and activist Chelsea Handler and Academy Award®-nominated actress and cultural icon Salma Hayek to its star-studded lineup for ‘Guys Choice 2015.’ Handler will be the first female ever to be awarded the coveted mantlers for the ‘Funniest M.F.’ award. Every guy’s mantasy Salma Hayek will receive the ‘Decade of Hotness’ honor.
Grio fam, how you do you feel about Mayweather receiving this award?
