Jaden Smith is ready to take his talents to the small screen.
The 16-year-old actor has landed a role in an upcoming Netflix hip-hop drama The Get Down, “a mythic saga of how New York at the brink of bankruptcy gave birth to hip-hop, punk and disco,” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Baz Luhrmann is already onboard to direct. The show will revolve around a group of ragtag South Bronx teenagers residing in New York City during the 1970s.

Smith will play Marcus “Dizzee” King, a psychedelic and enigmatic graffiti artist.
To prepare, Smith has already begun taking lessons from legendary graffiti artist Lady Pink and studying the history and culture of the South Bronx.
The show will premiere in early 2016.
