An Indiana mother is facing charges of child neglect after she left her 5-year-old son and 10-month-old baby alone in an apartment without any food.
The 5-year-old, scared and alone, called 911 for help. His mother, Darnisha Robinson, was arrested Friday outside the Mishawaka apartment.
A neighbor told WBND-TV she “watched the cops bring McDonalds to the little boys and feed them.”

Ken Witkowski, the Chief of Police in Mishawaka, told WBND-TV that officers reported the apartment was in terrible condition.
“It’s very heartbreaking, anytime children are involved or any kind of mistreatment of children that can’t fend for themselves, it’s very heartbreaking,” he told the ABC affiliate station.
“Some of them are family guys or women and they have children at home so I think it strikes inside,” he continued. “I think it brings out some kinds of heart-felt feelings.”
The boys were reportedly home alone for more than four hours before officers arrived. Robinson eventually returned after Child Protection Services had been called.
