It may look like a rat, but it’s definitely chicken.

That’s what an independent lab has discovered about the fried chicken served to a KFC customer who claimed his chicken tasted rubbery and that it was fried rat.

Although the meal certainly had the appearance of a dead rodent, complete with a long tail, KFC spokesman Rodrigo Coronel confirmed to the Huffington Post that the lab test showed that the meal was not made of rat but of chicken.

The investigation into the strangely shaped dinner because when Devorise Dixon, 25, posted to Instagram and Facebook, saying he had been served rat.

Both posts showed a picture of the chicken, which definitely looked to be in the shape of a rat, and Dixon even claimed that when he returned to the KFC, a manager admitted that it was, in fact, rat.

“WENT BACK TO KFC YESTERDAY AND SPOKE TO THE MANAGER SHE SAID IT IS A RAT AND APOLOGIZED, IT’S TIME FOR A LAWYER!!! BESAFE DON’T EAT FAST FOOD !!!” he posted online.

Coronel said that Dixon’s attorney sent the chicken to the lab for testing and that, furthermore, an investigation into Dixon’s claims that the manager said the food was rat showed that no such conversation had occurred.

“We did an internal investigation and talked to all employees. That statement is false,” Coronel wrote. “The right thing for this customer to do is to apologize and cease making false claims about the KFC brand.”

Now, KFC is “reviewing all options” in a possible case against Dixon.
