'Family Feud' beats 'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy' to become America's most-watched game show

Steve Harvey is TV game show’s new king.

For the first time, Family Feud reached the number one spot for syndication ratings for a game show.

Although the show has come close to this honor before, tying with “Jeopardy” for the title, this year is the first since the Nielsen People-Meters’ establishment in 1987 that “Family Feud” has surpassed “Wheel of Fortune.” Also in contention was the show “Judge Judy.”

Its 2.6 rating in key demographics came out ahead of “Judge Judy” (2.1), “Wheel of Fortune” (1.7) and “Jeopardy” (1.6). The victory comes shortly after a strong premiere for “Celebrity Family Feud.”

Harvey’s success story doesn’t just end with “Family Feud,” however. In addition, Harvey’s own talk show, “Steve Harvey,” had the biggest gain in year-over-year viewers when it came to talk shows.

“Family Feud” viewing numbers have seen steady increases since Harvey took over the show in 2010. Here’s hoping those numbers will continue to rise!
