Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Phyllis Stankiewicz, who is 88 years old, allegedly answered the door to police with a knife in hand.

Massachusetts police had arrived at her home after reports of a disturbance. The call was actually made from a block away, so when police arrived at Stankiewicz’s home, she was surprised and upset to see them.

She answered the door clutching a knife and had it pointed at an officer at “waist level.”

“There’s no crime here! Get out of my house!” she yelled, and police said that she seemed “angry and confused.”

According to one of the officers, she continued to approach with the knife until she “was just about sticking it into my stomach.” She also allegedly slapped one of them.

She was charged with assaulting a police officer, and police said that she resisted arrest and that they had to place her on the ground in order to complete the arrest.

Stankiewicz has since pleaded not guilty to the charges of assault and battery and has been released after she was booked.
