Bobby Brown forgets lyrics during July 4th concert: 'I'm in a different zone right now'

Bobby Brown had been slated to perform in Atlanta at the Affordable Old School Concert Series at Wolf Creek Amphitheater on July 4th, but with his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown in hospice care, his mind was probably not on the performance.

“Hold on Atlanta. Atlanta, I can’t hear y’all. I know it’s a little early, but God.. I probably know but one of you all up in here. Let’s have some fun!” Bobby said at one point during the 30-minute set, according to E! Online. “Yo, I was skipping songs and s–t…I feel like I have been up here for like two hours. Trust me I’m not gonna do anything that I don’t do. I love giving a good show. You’re all gonna get it.”

Although he performed hits like “My Prerogative,” he seemed to forget the lyrics on occasion and apologized to the crowd, saying, “Y’all got me forgetting s–t,” and, “I am in a different zone right now.”

“If I go somewhere else, please join me on that trip, because it’s gonna be a good trip,” he said.

The supportive audience shouted back, “We understand!”

But despite the flubs and the fact that he often left the stage to hug his brother, Tommy Brown, he assured the crowd, “This is my happy place.”
