Sean Kingston apologizes for mocking teen with Asperger's on Facebook

Attention celebrities – that meme your sharing may not be as funny as you think.

Sean Kingston appeared to make fun of a teen with Asperger’s who had been beaten up by bullies.

The post, which appeared on Kingston’s Facebook page, was a link to an article about the bullied kid along with the caption:

Tip of the day: If you start a fight, You better know how to fight or this will be happen! Pic#4 is insane! Ha!

Kingston has since come forward to apologize, explaining that he does not run his Facebook page and that he would never have posted something like that of his own accord. The singer told TMZ:

Just wanna apologize to Gavin and his family… My Facebook is not run by me!!… This is the 2nd time something like this happened […] And it hurts.. Cause anyone and anybody that knows me know I’m far from that type of person… So from now on I’ll post my own stuff.. Bless.

The outside vendor that had been running the Facebook page for Kingston admitted to not having read the article before posting about it. The vendor mistakenly thought that the article was “sending a message that it wasn’t cool to pick on autistic kids because they’ll fight back.”
