theGRIO REPORT - Rapper DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has been sentenced to 6 months in jail because of his failure to pay child support.
Rapper DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, has been sentenced to 6 months in jail because of his failure to pay child support.
He was arrested in June just before his scheduled performance at Radio City Music Hall. Now, his next appearance will be a stint in the Erie County Holding Center.
DMX was supposed to perform at the Shaggfest 2015 in Virginia Beach, Va., but the festival’s creator and z104 music director Shaggy announced that would no longer be the case via Twitter.

According to a spokesperson for the Erie Country Family Court, DMX was behind on his payments by $400,000 and also had warrants for his arrest when he was named as a suspect in an April robbery.
