On Tuesday, Kelly Osbourne’s insensitive remarks about the Latino population on The View stirred up a harsh backlash on social media.
The backlash on Twitter specifically was swift and unforgiving, as former View cohost Sherri Shepherd joined her voice to the chorus of others criticizing Osbourne’s remarks for their racial undertones.

But Shepherd tempered her teasing with an olive branch, saying, “cutting @KellyOsbourne a little slack, bc I’ve done it myself … sometimes isht comes out of your mouth live that you didn’t mean to say.”
She went on to add,
It's okay @KellyOsbourne … @GiulianaRancic did same … sometimes we say dumb stuff & regret it but hope we have friends who understand

Osbourne has since apologized for her remarks.
