According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Jose Roberto Turner has been charged in the death of the mother of his two children after she was found dead inside her vehicle.

Prosecutors say that the 45-year-old Turner will face one count of murder in connection with the domestic-violence killing, as the victim, Lajoya McCoy, was an ex-girlfriend.
McCoy’s body was found on June 16 after she had been earlier reported missing when a family member reported that she had not come to an appointment. Evidence suggests she had been killed six days before her body was found, and there was evidence of foul play at her home.
Turner was arrested last Thursday at the Temple Sheriff’s Station, and prosecutors have recommended that his bail be set at $1 million. He will face a maximum sentence of 25 years to life if convicted.
