Lupita Nyong'o stuns fans with a full head of long braids

Lupita Nyong’o has a brand new hairstyle: it looks like she’s ditched the close-cropped short look in favor of some gorgeous, long braids.
Nyong’o had already recently changed her look when, instead of the expected short style, she wore her hair in lovely, natural curls to the Disney D23 expo in August. But now, the change is even more dramatic, as she was spotted on Wednesday sporting the new braided look after having just come off of work from the Broadway play Eclipsed.

Of course, fans of Nyong’o won’t be surprised at the braids announcement; her followers on Instagram already got to see the new hairstyle, with braids pulled over into an epic side ponytail, on one of Nyong’o’s recent pictures.

In addition to looking ridiculously cool in her new hairstyle, Nyong’o has been busy lately working on Eclipsed, which will debut on Oct. 14 at the Public Theater in Manhattan. The play follows the stories of women held captive by Liberian rebels in 2003. Nyong’o is also starring in some pretty big upcoming films, including Disney’s Jungle Book as well as the highly-anticipated new Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
There’s no doubt about it: right now is a pretty great time to be Lupita Nyong’o.
