Pat Houston, President of the Whitney Houston Estate, and Greek billionaire Alki David, the CEO of Hologram USA, have announced that Whitney Houston will be coming back to the world of entertainment via hologram next year.

“I was heartbroken when Whitney passed away in 2012,” David said in a statement. “The opportunity to share her spectacular gifts with the world again is exactly what I hoped for when I built the hologram business. I’m confident we’ll create the ultimate celebration of Whitney’s amazing artistry.”

This announcement marks a departure for Pat Houston, who had before expressed reservations about using such technology.

“I don’t know how I would feel about [a hologram] and certainly I’ve been approached to do a project of that magnitude, and I said, ‘No.’ But who knows what the future holds,” she said in 2014 when asked about the possibility of using hologram technology for Whitney Houston. “I mean, it’s just been only two and half years. Maybe down the road.”

Now it appears she’s had a change of heart and is ready “bring back” Whitney Houston.

“It’s a great opportunity for her fans to see a reinvention of one the most celebrated female artists in history and to continue a legacy of performances that will not be forgotten in years to come. I look forward to the partnership,” Houston explained.

The hologram will perform at “a major U.S. venue” that will then be available on TVs and computers around the world. There is even a promised international tour following the U.S. premiere.
