Diggy Simmons on his acting debut in 'The Start Up,' explains 'slide into the DM's' phrase

Diggy Simmons is all grown up and making his acting debut on BET's 'The Start Up'...

Diggy Simmons shot to notoriety a decade ago appearing alongside his famous father, Rev. Run and siblings on MTV’s Run’s House.

The groundbreaking reality series came to an end in 2009, and since then Diggy has launched a successful music career and dabbled in the fashion industry.

Tonight Diggy makes his acting debut starring on BET’s original film, The Start Up.

Diggy plays Blake, a 19-year-old college student and blogger who tries to get his blog up and running with the help of his friends. R&B singer Teyana Taylor also appears in the film.

The 20-year-old rapper-now-actor stopped by theGrio to discuss his new film, and also talked about his latest single “Fakin” Feat. Ty Dolla $ign and Omarion.

Diggy later explained the popular social media term “slide into the DM’s.”
