Lamar Odom's children thank fans for support

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Lamar Odom’s children, Destiny and Lamar Jr., have been at Sunrise Hospital to be alongside their father, who was discovered unconscious in a brothel in Nevada. While they are hoping for a recovery, they have asked fans to keep their family in thoughts and prayers.

“Thanks for your outpouring of prayers and support for our dad. We are here with our family and friends,” they said in a statement to E! News. “We appreciate everyone respecting our privacy at this time. We ask for your continued prayers.”

Destiny and Lamar Jr., along with their mother and Lamar’s father, reportedly flew out to be by Lamar’s side after Khloe Kardashian made arrangements for them. Lamar remains in a coma, and an inside source says that his condition is “no better, no worse.”

“Nothing’s changed. Everyone is praying for a miracle,” the source said. However, the source went on to say that doctors did say that they road to recovery could be a very “long term” process as the former star comes out of his coma if his brain should turn out to still be functional.

The 35-year-old Lamar was discovered earlier this week after an apparent drug overdose that left him unconscious inside a brothel in Nevada.
