On Sunday, the body of a child who is believe to be a missing Florida 11-year-old was discovered in a freezer, and the prime suspect in the murder is the child’s mother.

According to WFLA, the child’s grandmother and aunt broke open the freezer and discovered the body inside, then called police on Sunday night. The freezer had been brought to a relative’s home on Wednesday with the help of a male friend of the mother’s. The mother, Keishanna Thomas, would not say where it came from and had previously refused to tell authorities where her daughter was.

“Mother’s silence to me says she’s guilty. She’s not a mother,” Bradenton Police spokesman Lt. James Racky told reporters this weekend. “She’s wicked, she’s wrong, she’s criminal. She’s possibly a killer.”

Although the body in the freezer is believed to be 11-year-old Janiya Thomas, the medical examiner will ultimately determine the identity of the body.

“The child in there is somebody’s child,” Racky added.

Racky, who is a father, did not hold back any of his emotions during his comments, saying, “We try to put on a calm face about it, but it disgusts me.”

Thomas’ family was being investigated by Child Protective Services after her 12-year-old son called police from a Walmart to report child abuse. When the CPS arrived to take Thomas’ children into custody, only 4 of the 5 children could be found, and Janiya was missing.
