Ben Carson thinks that one way to attract young, black voters is to put out a rap ad.
So his campaign just did it, according to ABC News.
And no, it wasn’t Cole, Kendrick or Drake on the track. No Kanye, no Jay Z, no Fetty Wap.
Instead, Carson’s campaign enlisted the talents of Aspiring Mogul.
Mogul’s SoundCloud page describes him as the “first and only Christian Republican Rapper.”
There’s no adequate way to describe the contents of the ad with words.
Just listen and run. Run far away:
Campaign spokesman Doug Watts told ABC that the purpose of the ad is to reach younger black voters “on a level they appreciate and follow and see if we can attract their consciousness about the election,” adding that “[t]hey need to get involved and express their voice through their vote.”
You hear that? That’s the sound of young black voters flocking to the polls to get in line early to vote for Carson.
