Adele says she's banned from posting her own tweets after drunk tweeting
Adele opens up about her problem with drunk tweeting and says her team now controls all postings to her Twitter account...
Adele used to have a problem with drunk tweeting, and so now, before she posts anything, two people have to check her tweets before they can go live.
Adele explained the system during an appearance on Adele At The BBC, hosted by Graham Norton. A fan had asked if it was true that she could not access her own Twitter account.
“This is true. Yeah,” she said with a laugh.
She then explained, “I mean I’m not a drinker any more, but when Twitter first came out I was, like, drunk tweeting, and nearly put my foot in it quite a few times.
“So my management decided that you have to go through two people and then it has to be signed off by someone, but they’re all my tweets. No one writes my tweets. They just post them for me. So, yeah, that’s very, very true.”
The interview was released ahead of a one-off, hour-long show during which Adele will be performing songs from her new album as well as some old classics. It will be her first performance on television since she wowed everyone at the Oscars singing her song “Skyfall.”
“I can’t wait for the show. The BBC has been wonderful to me over the years and Graham and I get on great so it’s going to be a laugh,” Adele said.
