Tamar Braxton hospitalized, then makes epic return on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Tamar Braxton has been struggling in her battle with pneumonia, and her husband, Vincent Herbert, recently rushed her to the hospital when she became ill during rehearsals for Dancing with the Stars.

Although Braxton was able to make an appearance on the show to perform her dance, it was taped beforehand, and she did not participate in the group dance and left the live broadcast to go to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

“[Tamar] was taken to the hospital earlier today, midway through dress rehearsal,” DWTS host Tom Bergeron announced when Braxton’s partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, took the stage on his own. “Now, I underscored at the top, this is very much a live show. We don’t have all the information right now. She might return in time to dance live here, we’ll keep you posted as we find out more.”

Braxton was judged based on the practice footage of their dance during the dress rehearsal, to much disappointment.

“It’s a wicked shame, because she’s such a brilliant performer,” Carrie Ann Inaba told Braxton’s partner. “I think that that live would have brought this room to life.”

“You just saw a person that shouldn’t have been here and was here because she felt bad for her partner,” Chmerkovskiy said. “I feel really bad because it shouldn’t be like that. It should be a fun journey.”
