TODAY’s Tamron Hall and Willie Geist were surprised by none other than LaBelle herself, who brought them slices of her much-desired dessert to try.
“Are you kidding me?!” Hall shouted when she saw LaBelle.
Geist greeted her with a hug and a surprised, “It’s you! It’s Patti LaBelle.”
The hosts then took bites out of their slices, and Geist burst out in song:Â “On my ooooooown!” Meanwhile, Hall did a little dance of happiness.
Sheinelle Jones also rushed over, grinning and excited, to share a moment with LaBelle.
As for LaBelle, she’s just pleased that the pie has generated so many reactions from people who have tried it. “It’s like a blessing! I am so happy,” she said.
The Patti LaBelle pies have been a huge hit since a viral video swept the nation. In the video, a man claims to literally turn into LaBelle and belts out her music upon taking his first bite. Since then, the pies have been selling out, and it’s next to impossible to get your hands on one anymore.
