Following dinner at a local Richmond restaurant, professional gospel singer Lisa Winn heard a group of performers singing one of her songs.
Winn quickly took out her cellphone in an attempt to video some of the performance, reports Inside Edition. However, when Bruno Mars’ “I Think I Wanna Marry You” began playing shortly after her song, she started to realize her boyfriend, Richard Bryan, might be up to something.
The street performers danced to the song, while Winn continued to video. After the first couple verses, the dancers grabbed Winn’s hand to join them as Bryan followed.
The gospel singer finally realized exactly what was going on, and Bryan got down on one knee. Winn immediately said “yes” through her tears of joy.
“I lost it! I cried uncontrollably,” Winn told IE. “We’ve talked about marriage, but I wasn’t sure when he would ask.”
The couple has known each other for four years and have been dating for the past two. The proposal took place at the Short Pump Town Center of Richmond.
