If only all of us could sing our way out of a traffic ticket.
Gospel singer T.J. Bristol filmed himself on a selfie stick during a traffic stop explaining that he had been pulled over for not wearing his seat belt.
“The craziest thing just happened to me – I’m being pulled over by police officers,” Bristol explains in the video clip he posted to Facebook. “I’m gonna pray my way out of this one.”
He then offers an apology to both officers and begins to serenade them with Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful,” promising to wear his seat belt from now on.
Bristol later posted the video to Facebook, saying:
God just got me out of this big ticket maybe you should try singing to your police officers, it work(ed) for me always remember (to) click it or ticket.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has since posted a response to the video in which they said that Ricks found the entire serenading experience “therapeutic,” as Thursday marked five years since her husband, who was also a police officer, was killed while in the line of duty.
