Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

In just five words, Bill Cosby offered his first words since being charged with sexually assaulting a woman at his home back in 2004.

“Friends and fans, Thank You,” the embattled comedian tweeted Thursday night.

The New Year’s Eve message was Cosby’s first on his Twitter account since early August.

Cosby has been officially charged with aggravated indecent assault. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele announced the charges Wednesday morning, which stem from a 2004 incident involving the alleged victim Andrea Constand.

Constand maintains Cosby gave her pills and wine and, without her consent, proceeded to sexually assault her. Cosby has maintained, however, the incident was consensual.

A judge ordered Cosby’s wife Camille to give a deposition next week relating to a defamation suit her husband faces involving seven women.
