Taraji P. Henson wins best drama actress at Golden Globes, passes out cookies to audience

When Taraji P. Henson won the Golden Globe Award for best performance by an actress in a drama series, she had pretty much the best reaction ever: she announced that there would be “cookies for everyone.”

Henson plays the character Cookie Lyon on the highly-rated Fox series Empire, and her character’s name was the force behind the generous offer.

“Cookies for everyone tonight!” she announced on stage. “My treat!”

Henson also expressed excitement over her win, especially because this was also the first nomination she had received. “Who knew that playing an ex-convict would take me all around the globe?” she asked.

“Please wrap? Wait a minute. I waited 20 years for this. You gon’ wait. Yeah, you gon’ give me a little more time,” the 45-year-old actress remarked at the teleprompter, causing the audience to cheer.

The other nominees in the category were Caitriona Balfe (Outlander), Viola Davis (How to Get Away With Murder), Eva Green (Penny Dreadful) and Robin Wright (House of Cards).
