Mariah Carey gets engaged to billionaire James Packer
Congratulations to Mariah Carey and James Packer!
The two are engaged as of Thursday night, when Packer proposed in New York City with a massive 35 carat engagement ring.
Back in November, Carey opened up in an interview with Steve Harvey about how they met.
“We first met in Aspen,” she said. “We were at the Hercules premiere. We were talking and laughing and people were getting mad at us and stuff like that. So we hit it off.”
For Packer, this will be his third marriage, and he brings three children to the family from his previous marriage to model and singer Erica Baxter. Carey had previously been married to Nick Cannon until 2014, and she brings 4-year-old fraternal twins, Monroe and Moroccan, to the new family.
