Shonda Rhimes' Romeo and Juliet sequel ‘Still Star-Crossed’ gets ABC pilot

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

ABC just can’t get enough of Shondaland, and we can’t either.

The network has announced its latest pilots, and this year, the Shondaland project to watch is Still Star-Crossedfrom Heather Mitchell, co-executive producer on Shonda Rhimes’ Scandal, reports Deadline Hollywood.

The series is based on a book by Melinda Taub that examines the situation of the Montagues and Capulets after William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” ends. There is palace intrigue, star-cross romance and treachery to be found in the pages of that book, so you can bet the show is going to have plenty to keep us wanting more.

Other drama pilots announced by ABC include The Jury, Marvel’s Most Wanted, John Ridley’s Presence and the Kiefer Sutherland series Designated Survivor.
