Angela Bassett reacts to white actor cast as Michael Jackson, jokes she can star as Elizabeth Taylor

Angela Bassett is using humor to sound off about white actor Joseph Fiennes being cast to play Michael Jackson...

Luther Vandross was outed as gay after his death.

Angela Bassett clearly is not here for white British actor Joseph Fiennes starring as Michael Jackson in an upcoming SkyTV movie called Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon.

The film is based on a alleged road trip Jackson went on after 9/11 with Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando.

Fiennes caused an uproar on social media after news broke he would be playing the late King of Pop earlier this week.

Bassett and fellow actor Orlando Jones took an opportunity to joke about Fiennes’ casting on Twitter.

@ & as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in ‘Is This Husband No 5… or No 7?'” Jones captioned an old photo of Bassett and himself.

The Oscar-nominated actress responded, saying that she’s already ordered her violet-colored contact lenses and bathed in a bottle of Taylor’s perfume.

“BRILLIANT! Ordered my violet contacts & bathed in White Diamonds this morning, so I’m READY! Let’s do this! xo! Ang,” Bassett wrote.
