Mechelle Epps says was blindsided by the news that her husband of 10 years, Mike Epps, wants a divorce.
Last week, Mike filed for divorce from Mechelle in the Los Angeles Supreme Court, according to TMZ.
Mechelle says she and Mike were carrying on like a married couple just last month, although Mike claims they separated over the summer.
“It was shocking to me,” Mechelle told TMZ. “I didn’t know we were separated since the summer time. We’ve been doing everything a married couple does up until January. I think when I saw him walking down the streets of New York with a mysterious girl, I think that did it.”
Bottom line, Mechelle says Mike was not a loyal spouse.
“It’s hard because you think you’re in a relationship and being loyal to that person and you think loyalty will always win, but people are people. Fame gets to their head, you just never know.”
Mike and Mechelle’s relationship reportedly fell apart six months ago when she caught him flirting with another woman on Twitter.
Mike was caught talking to another woman and asking her if she was on Instagram, and when she said that she was not, he told her to “DM me.”
Mechelle caught wind of what was going on and posted emojis of eyeballs to indicate that she had seen the whole conversation go down.
