Nate Parker’s “The Birth of a Nation,” a slave biopic, captured the attention of the Sundance film festival and broke records when it was sold for $17.5 million to Fox Searchlight. Since then, the reviews have consistently been good, and Oprah Winfrey is now adding her voice to those raving about the new film.

Winfrey took to Instagram after a private screening for her birthday to call the film a “masterful creation” that “will leave you speechless.”

Additionally, Gayle King posted a video captioned, “two days later still thinking about @origi_nate masterpiece #BirthOfaNation. Special shoutout from @Oprah to YOU @nateparker.!!! You just changed the game.”
