Melanie Roberts was celebrating her 50th birthday in style.
Roberts, along with her friends, traveled to New York City to party in a limousine. But after the party, she got arrested after robbing her limo driver and threatening him at gunpoint.

Roberts, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time, was the last person dropped off when the limo returned to her home in Connecticut. She reportedly then got into an argument with the driver over the cost of the trip.
According to police, Roberts took the keys from the driver and then retrieved a gun from her home. She returned to the limo armed and took back her money and even the vehicle’s GPS.

The limo driver called 911 and Roberts was later detained. The driver was unharmed.
“Anytime you mix alcohol, heightened emotions and a firearm…things can turn sideways,” Cpl. Stanley F. Parizo, Jr. said, according to the Hartford Courant. “We were fortunate that no one was injured and that no shots were fired.”

Roberts was arrested after the incident and was charged with first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, second-degree threatening, carrying firearm while under the influence and breach of peace.
