Lil Mama was pulled over in Harlem for going 38 in a 25 mph zone. At first, it seemed she would be released with either a warning or a small speeding ticket, but then officers ran her license through their database and discovered that it had been revoked.

Now, Lil Mama has released a statement describing the arrest and apologizing.

“I would like to apologize to my family, friends and fans for my actions last night. I made a mistake and it was totally irresponsible of me to drive without a valid drivers license. My actions do not in any way reflect who I am as a person,” Lil Mama said.

She went on to say that she would take full responsibility for her actions and that she would accept whatever legal punishment was deemed necessary.

With that being said, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will take the necessary measures to have this quickly resolved and corrected.”
