An 8-year-old girl with cancer moved in with her grandmother at a senior living facility, but now, she faces eviction because she and her mother do not fit the 55-years-and-older requirements of the facility.
Amani Norton was diagnosed in November with a rare form of stomach cancer and had to undergo 16 weeks of chemotherapy. Her mother, Jaimi Norton, said that she could not work and keep up with caring for her ailing daughter, so she moved herself and her daughter in with her mother.

“The office said ‘I hear your children, grandchildren, are staying with you.’ And I said ‘Yes, ’cause she has cancer’ and they said ‘Well, that don’t matter. She’s got to get out,’” Malaspino said.
