Beyoncé sues the ink out of knock off ‘Feyonce’ products
This week, Beyoncé’s legal team reportedly filed a lawsuit in New York federal court against a company called Feyonce, Inc., according to Billboard.
The singer claims that the items being sold by the company infringe on her trademarked name and likeness.
“Defendants adopted the Feyonce mark to call to mind Beyonce and her famous song. Defendants’ conduct described herein is intentional, fraudulent, malicious, willful and wanton,” said the lawsuit, in reference to mugs that contain the line “He put a ring on it,” a reference to a line from her hit 2008 song “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).”
The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages for the copyright infringement.
