New Orleans' Will Smith Receives Send Off

A recent parade send-off was held this week for recently deceased Will Smith, the former NFL defensive end for the New Orleans Saints. His tragic death occurred last weekend in a shooting where he was killed after an alleged road rage incident.

Hundreds of supporters and spectators attended the the traditional New Orleans-style second line parade to remember him and commemorate his career. A news video released of the special event showed hundreds of people dancing and playing music. Many supporters were dressed in fancy costumes representing the traditional New Orleans style.

The 34-year old NFL player’s death came as a shock to many, and the video showed the vast amount of well wishes to Smith and his family. According to older reports of the shooting that killed the NFL star last weekend, Smith was shot in the Garden District. He was accompanied by his wife, who was also shot but survived and is in recovery.

As supporters gathered along the New Orleans streets and participated in the parade ceremony to honor his life and legacy, fans spoke out that he will be dearly missed and that his life will not be forgotten.
