First look at Tupac biopic “All Eyez on Me” shows striking resemblance
The highly anticipated Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me, finished up shooting earlier this month in Las Vegas, and now we have a first look to hold us over until the movie’s release.
The biopic will depict Tupac’s rise to fame as well as his eventual tragic murder in 1996. The movie’s star role of Tupac is played by newcomer Demetrius Shipp, Jr., who looks just like the legendary rapper.
The role of Biggie will be played by a familiar face– Jamal Woolard, who starred in the 2009 biopic Notorious as Christopher Wallace.
Behind the scenes, the movie’s reenactment of Tupac’s death allegedly drew such a crowd in Las Vegas that reporters and bystanders thought an actual murder had taken place. TMZ reported that “local reporters actually rushed to the scene during filming, mistaking the blanks for real gunshots.” It was filmed in the same place 2Pac was murdered.
The movie will hit theaters in November, shortly after the 20th year anniversary of Pac’s death. After the commercial success of NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton, which earned $201.6 million at the box office, there is buzz building around the potential for All Eyez on Me to draw a large audience.
