Jada Pinkett-Smith posts heartfelt tribute to Afeni Shakur
Jada Pinkett-Smith called Afeni Shakur a “giant in her own right,” in a touching Facebook post Tuesday.
Afeni Shakur died Monday night following a possible heart attack, according to the New York Daily News. The mother of the late rapper Tupac Shakur was 69 years old.
Pinkett-Smith has known Tupac since her high school years. Her Facebook post Tuesday reiterated that she was also very close to Afeni, sharing conversation, reflection and admiration with the activist mother who inspired some of her son’s best tracks.
