A Georgia family is devastated after they say all of their belongings were stolen by Craigslist movers.

“I mean, we have lived in this house for over 10 years,” the homeowner explained to WSB-TV Atlanta. “We built a life here, memories. We have items that are irreplaceable on that truck.”

The family hired a group of movers on Craigslist, and the movers helped the family load their belongings in preparation for a move. After four hours, the truck was loaded and they headed out with the homeowner behind, but then, she said, they ditched her and disappeared.

“Ten years of memories, irreplaceable items, things that my husband and I worked hard for and earned. It’s just gone,” she said.  The total value of the items has been estimated to be worth $75,000.

After two days, Cobb police called to inform her that thus far they had managed to recover only one box, but it was the one with the most personal items inside.

“If I don’t get anything back, I want that box, because it has all of our social security, birth certificates in it. It has death records from my mom and son,” she said. “Of course, I had iPads and phones that were gone, but all the birth certificates, and all the records that I really needed were in that box, including my Bible, thank God.”
